This is my contribution to Captain Kurt's Yokosuka Suisei (Comet) for EAW. It depicts a machine from the IJN Carrier Junyo, of an unknown Kokutai during the Great Marianas Turkey Shoot (The Battle of the Phillipine Sea).

Thanks to Captain Kurt for creating the Judy, and for Sandbagger for hosting!

From Captain Kurt's readme:

The model 22 was developed to replace the Val dive bomber for the Imperial Japanese Navy. It began replacing the Val dive bomber in service in 1943 and became the standard IJN dive bomber by 1944. It was powered by a license built German DB601 engine that was the Luftwaffe's Bf109 power plant. The engine proved troublesome to maintain and operate. This led to a second development of a radial engine variant, the D4Y3, using the more reliable Japanese Kinsei 62 radial engine. It was no more self protected than the Val -- lacking armor and having only a single 7.7mm tail gun on a swivel mount for its rear cover. In spite of that, it was responsible for sinking the USS Princeton and heavily damaging the USS Franklin.

I developed this new model from the old PAW 1942 Kate 3DZ wireframe. The skin is by me as well. It is used in the JU88A slot. It has a new air flight file made by Charles Gunst included in the folder.

To use place the 3DZ files, the .tcp files and the JU88A file into your EAW folder. Do not open ECAPanel after installation or it will over write the JU88A flight file.

There is a no markings PCX included in case you would like to develop different markings for the plan, with my blessing.

Hope you enjoy it.

Cheers,

Captain Kurt D.M.M.
